This is my family.

Kind of trippy huh? A few years ago if you had told me this would be my life, I wouldn't have believed you. Weirder still is that both of us hope there will be a few more heads in Christmas Card 2017. They can make you completely nuts and completely happy at the same time. I don't know how to explain it.

Who knew that sanity would come from a routine?!? It's taken me almost a year of mulling things over in my brain, a few books, more than a few blog posts, and several conversations to come up with it and finally this weekend I typed it out and made it Law. It is a routine, not a schedule and so far it's totally working for us!

I know, I know. FlyLady has heavily influenced it. As has Toddlerwise. And the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What can I say? I've been drinking a lot of Kool-aid. What it really comes down to is that my sister has scared the bajeezus out of me with stories of what happens when you screw these small people up. I don't want that on my head and I need all the help I can get.

I knew you got more done before my ass wakes up but, HOLY CRAP! You're killing me! Makes total sense though... I'm still not waking up before 8.

You inspire me. I have only two pages of my so called control journal done. My sink has been clean for 4 weeks straight though so I guess I am on the right path. Can you write me a schedule too...

You are ON it!! Good for you. Okay, so I adhere to about a fraction of this schedule, but I do notice that having, say, 3 of these things in place (6:30 wake-up, 5:30 dinner, 7:30 bedtime) really helps the whole day go smoothly. You're in the thick of your postpartum period and setbacks are normal, but just remember that it's going to keep getting easier from here on out. You're doing great.
