Every mommy has advice to give. We all give it freely and some of it is really not helpful and actually kind of dumb.
Being a mommy is hard. Hard. hard. hard.
I felt like I deserved a medal for not losing it on my tantrumming kid this afternoon. Then I felt like a total shmuck for thinking I should get a stupid medal when I left for knitting night and she said, "Love you, mommy."
Everything is a stage.
We're all making it up as we go along.
We're all just doing the best we can with what we've got.
That's got to be enough.

I agree in that some of the advice is not always helpful, but what I love about mom's groups (I mean knitting groups-he he) is that we are comfortable with each other to talk openly. A lot of it is just getting stuff off our chest (like last night for me!). We all have our own ways of dealing with things and each of us are unique but I have gotten some great advice when I needed it and it definitely went in my mommy toolbox.
I will bring the medal next time. You did stay nice and calm. And really the kids forget about all the tantrums and not so great stuff much faster than we do. This morning, after giving him a lecture on brushing teeth in less than 10 minutes when we are rushing to school and me being on his case about a few other things, he called to me from his classroom door and gave me a big smile.
